The forty-ninth annual meeting of the Midwest Medieval History Conference will be
held on the campus of the Ohio State University in Columbus Ohio on 1-2 October
2010. This year\'s meeting is centered around the theme of \"Medieval Church and
Society,\" in honor of Joseph H. Lynch, Distinguished University Professor and Joe R.
Engle Professor of the History of Christianity at Ohio State and longtime member of
the MMHC, who died unexpectedly in December of 2008 at the age of 65.

The conference will commence on Friday afternoon with graduate student papers.
Saturday will feature scholarly papers on a range of topics as well as a keynote
address by Professor John Van Engen from the University of Notre Dame.

Paper proposals are welcome on any area of the history of the Middle Ages, through
papers connected to the church and society theme will be especially welcome.
Graduate students presenting will receive a $100 honorarium. Abstracts of 250-300
words may be sent via e-mail to both of the Program Co-Chairs, Phil Adamo at
adamo@augsburg.edu and R.J. Stansbury at stansbury_ronald@roberts.edu. Any
