CALL FOR PAPERS - Journal of the OUHS

The Journal of the OUHS was established by the student community at Oxford as a medium for the publication and dissemination of original and inter-disciplinary historical research. It is a bi-annual online peer-reviewed scholarly journal run by postgraduate students under the aegis of the Oxford University History Society. Its aims are: to establish scholarly links in the varied community of historians at the University of Oxford; to serve as a discussion forum for the international community of postgraduate students and scholars; and to provide a medium for contact between advanced postgraduate students and established academics. JOUHS is envisaged not only as a platform for graduate and doctoral students, but also as a means of interaction with eminent scholars. JOUHS publishes online both graduate and undergraduate papers in the following subject areas: Archaeology, Ancient History, Medieval History, European History, History of the British Isles, World History, Approaches to History, Economic History, History of Science, and History of Art. Additionally, the JOUHS accepts other items for publication: essays, articles, reviews, conference papers and interviews (please contact the Executive Editor before submitting conference papers or arranging an interview). The maximum length for a review is 3,000 words and 8,000 words for a paper (excluding endnotes). Articles should be accompanied by an abstract of 250 words and a brief biographical statement. All submissions should be in Times New Roman font (12 pt.) with 2.0 line spacing and generous margins. Endnotes should be numbered consecutively and appear at the end of the text. For more information on style please refer to The Oxford Manual of Style (Oxford: OUP, 2003) by Robert M. Ritter or contact the Executive Editor. Please consult the guidelines for contributors before submitting your paper or review. Please send your submission as an e-mail attachment (Word format) in addition to (not in lieu of) two hard copies. The Editors reserve the right to edit your submission if it is accepted for publication. The deadline for submissions is 31 March 2007. Manuscripts, editorial correspondence and books for review should be sent to the Executive Editor: Mail: Jacquelyn Fernholz, JOUHS, Balliol College, Oxford, OX1 3BJ, United Kingdom. e-mail: jouhs@herald.ox.ac.uk web: http://users.ox.ac.uk/~jouhs/
