Position:
Instructor/Assistant Professor
Collection Development Librarian
Duties:
Responsible for coordinating the overall library collection development
including assessment and management functions; direct collection
planning
and acquisitions to meet the institution's teaching, learning and
research needs. Will select library materials; coordinate materials
budget requests/allocation, work with vendors and oversee faculty
liaison
programs in assigned subject/academic discipline areas. Will participate
in the Library's reference and bibliographic instruction services.
Qualifications:
ALA accredited MLS degree required for appointment as an Instructor.
ALA
accredited MLS degree plus second master's degree or doctorate required
for an appointment as an Assistant Professor. Relevant professional
experience in an academic setting helpful, as are assessment and
analytical skills, familiarity with current collection development
philosophy and practice in academic libraries, understanding of digital
library technologies, and skill in facilitating collaborative problem-
solving and group decision-making. Excellent oral and written
communication skills with people at all levels needed.
Salary:
Instructor: $34,857 * $51,126
Assistant Professor: $38,001 * $55,224
Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
