About This Site
Submissions are invited from graduate students for a special issue of the Graduate Journal of Asia-...

In this special issue of the Graduate Journal of Asia-Pacific Studies we ask contributors to explore these questions of convergence and divergence. Contributors are encouraged to think about these issues not simply in relation to the well trodden territory of globalisation but also with reference to historical and contemporary experiences of (neo)colonialism, neo-liberalism, sexism, racism and nationalism. Which experiences and practices seem to be converging and/or diverging in the contemporary Asia-Pacific? In what circumstances do universalising tendencies unintentionally lead to increased particularity? Or vice versa? Is there a space between the universal and the particular? Or is this an unbreakable binary?

Email submissions to the Editor, f.collins@auckland.ac.nz, as attachments saved in RTF or DOC format using a standard word processor.

Submissions should be received by August 30th 2006.

We are also seeking book reviews. For a list of current titles available for review (these include books on Asian & Pacific cinema, history and politics) please contact the Editor at the above address or the Review Editors Eujin Chua eujinchuaemail@gmail.com, or Ann Pistacchi Ann@pozo.org.
