Subject: Position Announcement
Serials Librarian at the level of I or II
Morehead State University's Camden-Carroll Library is seeking a
creative, service-oriented Serials Librarian at the level of I or II
depending on qualifications.
Responsibilities: Coordinate and support selection, access, and
assessment of serials in all formats and provide leadership in the
ongoing transition from a print to an electronic environment; administer
the Library's link-resolver; oversee maintenance of the library's print
journal collection; serve as liaison to an academic department; engage
in professional activities and service; supervise one FTE staff; and
report to the Asst. Dean for Technical Services.
Minimum Qualifications: ALA-accredited MLS. Familiarity with
aggregators,
database producers, vendors, and sources of electronic journals.
Demonstrated analytical and organizational skills. Experience with
integrated library systems. Ability to work in a collaborative, service-
orientated environment. Flexibility in adapting to change. Ability to
initiate and maintain effective working relationships. Excellent oral
and
written communication skills. Familiarity with OpenURL link resolvers.
Librarian II level requires at least 3 years academic library experience
at the professional level.
Desired Qualifications: Two or more years of experience
(pre-professional
or professional) working with serials, preferably in an academic
library.
Successful supervisory experience. Experience with Endeavor's Voyager
and
the SFX link resolver.
