The Martin Luther King, Jr. Research and Education Institute at Stanford University seeks Assistant Director for its Liberation Curriulum program. Under the direction of the King Institute Director, this position will be responsible for the development of on-line educational materials based on the African American freedom struggle and other social movements; development and maintenance of Liberation Curriculum website; and directed historical research, writing, and editing, among other responsibilities.



Requirements include

- demonstrated ability to undertake historical research, excellent writing skills, and a familiarity with communication potential of the Internet



- background in history, especially modern African-American history preferred



- familiarity with web editing and teaching experience or educational background desirable



- creativity, initiative and ability to work as part of a team



- B.A. in humanities
